IJPD's Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals

The International Journal of Peace and Development is committed to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through research, knowledge dissemination, and promotion of evidence-based practices. We particularly focus on the following SDGs:

SDG 1: No Poverty

We recognize the link between poverty and conflict, publishing research on poverty reduction strategies in fragile contexts, economic inclusion programs, and approaches to breaking cycles of poverty and violence.

SDG 4: Quality Education

IJPD publishes research on inclusive and equitable quality education, promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. We welcome studies on education for peace, conflict-sensitive educational approaches, innovative teaching methodologies, and educational policies that foster social cohesion.

SDG 5: Gender Equality

IJPD encourages research on gender dimensions of peace and development, women's participation in peace processes, gender-responsive policies, and addressing gender-based violence in conflict and post-conflict settings.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

We publish studies on sustainable economic growth, employment creation in post-conflict economies, economic recovery strategies, and the relationship between economic development and peaceful societies.

SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities

Our journal features research on addressing inequality as a driver of conflict, inclusive development approaches, social protection policies, and strategies for promoting social, economic, and political inclusion.

SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

As a core focus of our journal, we promote peaceful and inclusive societies, access to justice, and effective institutions. Research on conflict resolution, peacebuilding, transitional justice, governance reforms, and institutional capacity building directly supports this goal.

SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

IJPD supports multi-stakeholder partnerships and international cooperation, publishing research on collaborative approaches to peacebuilding and development, coordination mechanisms, and knowledge sharing across sectors.

Special Issues on SDGs

IJPD regularly publishes special issues focused on specific Sustainable Development Goals or the intersection of multiple goals. Authors interested in proposing a special issue related to any of the SDGs are encouraged to contact our editorial team with a concept note.

SDG Impact Statement

We encourage authors to include an "SDG Impact Statement" in their submissions, briefly explaining how their research contributes to one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals. This helps readers understand the broader implications and applications of the research in supporting global development objectives.
